Larisa Mesarič / Double Award (Croatia)
From the WORLD OPEN Stage to Šibenik
Larisa Mesarič’s Double Award Experience – Croatia
Following her inspiring experience at the Cap Ferret Music Festival in France, Larisa Mesarič (Slovenia) continued the second part of her Double Award, received as the Absolute Winner in the Flute nomination and Masters Final of the WORLD OPEN MUSIC COMPETITION 2025.
In September 2026, Larisa travelled to the beautiful Adriatic city of Šibenik, where she participated in the Summer Music Academy Šibenik.

During the Academy, she had the opportunity to work with distinguished flute professors Jan Ostry, Vicens Prats and Michel Moragues. Working with three different professors offered Larisa new artistic perspectives and valuable musical knowledge, making the masterclasses an important part of her continued artistic development.

The Academy combined intensive musical work with an inspiring international atmosphere in the beautiful surroundings of historic Šibenik. It also brought together talented young flutists and established musicians, creating opportunities for artistic exchange, new friendships and professional connections.
An additional highlight of the programme was a Yamaha flute exhibition, where participants could explore and try different flutes and piccolos, as well as receive assistance with minor adjustments and repairs to their instruments.

Larisa especially expressed her gratitude to Renata Penezić, Artistic Director of the Summer Music Academy Šibenik, for her warm welcome, kindness and dedication in creating such an inspiring musical experience.

Reflecting on her experiences in Šibenik and France, Larisa wrote:
“They both gave me so much new experience and musical knowledge. I am so glad I could attend the masterclass in Šibenik and the Cap Ferret Festival in France.”

She also shared a message that is especially meaningful to us as organizers:
“Your international competition opened so many new doors for me. I am beyond thankful!”
With her participation in the Summer Music Academy Šibenik, Larisa successfully completed her Double Award experience — two international opportunities that brought new knowledge, inspiration, performances and valuable encounters with distinguished musicians and professors.
For the WORLD OPEN MUSIC COMPETITION, this is the true purpose of our Prize Fund: to transform outstanding competition achievements into real opportunities for further artistic development and international experience.
We congratulate Larisa once again and wish her continued inspiration, artistic growth and many new successes on the international music stage.
