Pierre Bibault<\/strong> Pierre Bibault<\/strong>\u00a0is a versatile classical and electric guitarist, recognized for his virtuosity, innovative interpretation, and\u00a0dedication to contemporary music.<\/strong> Trained as a classical musician, he is both a soloist, chamber musician, and researcher, specializing in the most demanding and avant-garde repertoires.<\/p>\n Throughout his career, Pierre Bibault\u00a0has performed in over 25 countries,<\/strong> playing\u00a0in iconic venues<\/strong>\u00a0such as Radio France, the Philharmonie de Paris, Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, the Musikverein in Vienna, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Wigmore Hall in London, Prinzregententheater in Munich, Flagey in Brussels, Salle Bourgie in Montreal, De Bijloke in Ghent, Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood, and the Fondation Maeght, among many others.<\/p>\n As a soloist,<\/strong> Pierre Bibault explores a\u00a0unique sonic universe<\/strong>\u00a0where the guitar meets new technologies. He offers varied programs, ranging from written music to improvisations, often enriched with electronic installations and real-time sound transformations. Among his notable projects are\u00a0Sequences<\/i>\u00a0(a re-exploration of Luciano Berio\u2019s\u00a0Sequenza XI<\/i>, recently recorded on video and to be released in autumn 2024),\u00a0Creations<\/i>\u00a0(commissions of new works),\u00a0Bibault meets Moultaka<\/i>\u00a0(a collaboration with composer Zad Moultaka),\u00a0Mirrors<\/i>\u00a0(highlighting works by Murail, Romitelli, and Dufourt), and\u00a0The Steve Reich Guitar Project<\/i>.<\/p>\n This last project made a strong impact in 2021 with the release of the\u00a0complete works for electric guitar by Steve Reich.<\/strong> Endorsed by the composer himself, the album was praised by the press and has reached over 200,000 streams. Pierre Bibault\u2019s rendition of\u00a0Nagoya Guitars<\/i>\u00a0was included in the official\u00a0Essential Steve Reich<\/i>\u00a0playlist, while his version of\u00a0Electric Counterpoint\u00a0was voted \u201cbest version\u201d by listeners of the\u00a0Tribune des Internautes\u00a0on France Musique<\/strong>\u00a0in February 2024.<\/p>\n In July 2024, he\u00a0collaborated with choreographers\u00a0Gerard & Kelly<\/i>\u00a0at the Fondation Maeght<\/strong>\u00a0in a project that fused music and dance, featuring works by Steve Reich, Luciano Berio, and Isaac Alb\u00e9niz.<\/p>\n That same month, he was\u00a0invited to the prestigious\u00a0Tanglewood Festival<\/i><\/strong>for the\u00a0Contemporary Music Festival week<\/i>, under the auspices of the\u00a0Tanglewood Music Center<\/i>, where he shared his innovative approach to contemporary guitar with an international audience.<\/p>\n Alongside his solo projects, Pierre Bibault\u00a0has collaborated with many prestigious ensembles and orchestras,<\/strong> including\u00a0Klangforum Wien,<\/strong> Ensemble 2E2M, InSoliTus, Sound Icon (Boston), Uproar (Wales), and the\u00a0Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Starting in 2018, he has been regularly invited by the\u00a0Ensemble Intercontemporain,<\/strong> collaborating with composers such as Olga Neuwirth, Rebecca Saunders, James Dillon, and Helmut Lachenmann. He has performed a repertoire ranging from Frank Zappa\u2019s psychedelic rock to film music, such as\u00a0Die Stadt ohne Juden<\/i>\u00a0by Olga Neuwirth, recorded for Arte\/ZDF. In 2019,\u00a0he was the soloist for the French premiere of Hans Werner Henze\u2019s guitar concerto\u00a0Ode an Eine \u00c4olsharfe<\/i>\u00a0at the Philharmonie de Paris,<\/strong> under the direction of Brad Lubman.\u00a0<\/p>\n Since 2017, Pierre Bibault has collaborated with Ensemble Variances, led by Thierry P\u00e9cou, exploring contemporary themes such as sustainable development.
