Danijela Gazdić, Master of Arts, full professor
She graduated from the Kyiv State Conservatory “P.I. Tchaikovsky” in 1995 in the class of prof. V.V. Besfaljmiljnova with an average grade of 10 during her studies, and graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine in Kyiv in 1997 with the highest grades in the class of academician N.A. Davidov.
He started working at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo in 1998, when he founded the Accordion Department, where he currently teaches as a full professor, and at the same time serves as the head of the Accordion Department. Since the beginning of her work at the Academy, she has had a number of notable pedagogical results. Students from her class won over 350 prizes (special, laureate, first, second and third) at domestic and international competitions and festivals (Republika Srpska and BiH, Serbia, Croatia, Hungary, Greece, Italy, Ukraine, Austria, Russia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Australia, North Macedonia, Spain, Great Britain and the USA).
In addition to teaching, Danijela is also involved in concert activities. She performed at the Opening of the World Trophy (Serbia) and festivals: Slovenian Music (Moscow), Sarajevo Winter, Chamber Music Festival (Montenegro), Koral (East Sarajevo) and at numerous events and scientific conferences in the area of East Sarajevo. She held solo concerts in Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Austria and in a number of cities in the Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as notable concert performances in collaboration with artists both in the field of music and in other areas of stage creation. She recorded three CDs, one for solo accordion called “Memories”, and with her colleague Dejana Hrsum, M.Sc., the CD “Duo Lagrimas” for voice and accordion and participated in the recording of the CD “Zorana and Etno Orkestar”. She is the author of the collection “Concert Repertoire for Chamber Music I” and the university textbook entitled “Methodical approaches in Accordion teaching”.
She was a member of the jury of the most prestigious international and domestic accordion competitions, such as: World Cup, World Trophy (China, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland), Festival of Slavic Music (Russia), Star Trek, Belgrade Accordion Festival, Euphonia (Serbia), Accordion Fest (Austria), Accordion Art (BiH), International Jubilee Festival (Great Britain), Kaunus Sonorum (Lithuania), Polihimnia, Ohrid te Sakam (North Macedonia), Accordion Festival (Belarus). She participated in the scientific conference “The Art of Learning” in Lithuania, and successfully held a series of master classes in Poland, Lithuania, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Republika Srpska and BiH.
She is a reviewer of professional literature for accordion and a collaborator in several commissions at the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska. She held the position of Vice-Dean for Scientific Research and Artistic Work (from 2005 to 2007) at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo, where she is Head of the Accordion Department (from 2000 to 2011) and again from 2017 to the present.
Pedagogical and artistic work and activities to spread musical culture and spirituality were awarded with several Plaques from the Academy of Music, and certificates of appreciation from music schools and festivals in the country and abroad (Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Russia, Lithuania, Germany, Belarus, France, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland). Danijela was also awarded the Plaque for the most successful woman in the city of East Sarajevo in 2006. At the Congress of the General Assembly of the World Accordion Association held in the Swiss city of Zoffingen in October 2022, she was elected a member of the Music Committee of this prestigious association. Danijela Gazdic’s biography is included in the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Srpska.
