Viktor Ilić (1986) graduated from FMU in Belgrade in the class of professor Srđan Tošić, and received his doctorate at the same faculty under the mentorship of Aleksandar Hadži-Đorđević.
He trained with the world’s leading guitarists: The Assad Brothers, John Duarte, Roberto Aussel, Manuel Baruecco, Costas Cotsiolis, Carlo Marchione, Nikita Koshkin, Pablo Marquez, etc.
Since 2010, he has been dedicated to expanding the repertoire for solo guitar and guitar in chamber ensembles. In addition to performing and pedagogy, he deals with transcribing, arranging and notography. He is the author and founder of the digital transcription library GriffCraft.
His students have won over 40 awards at domestic and international competitions.
He collaborated with many artists such as José Luis Martínez, Vojin Kocić, Natalija Mladenović, Juri Revič, etc.
He is the winner of more than 20 national and international awards in competitions, such as the laureate of the Republic Competition, Guitar Art Festival (Belgrade, Serbia) and Andres Segovia Competition (Welbert, Germany). He is the recipient of a scholarship from the Dutch Queen under the patronage of Queen Beatrix II, a scholarship for young talents Dr. Zoran Đinđić, an order of King Aleksandar Karađorđević, an honorary citizen of Smederevo and a recipient of a plaque for his contribution to the development of the guitar (Ćustendil, Bulgaria).
In 2017, The London Philharmonic Orchestra included his guitar transcription of the famous Bach Toccata and Fugue in D minor among the 10 best arrangements in the world.
He is the founder and director of the Mons Aureus Guitar festival in Smederevo.
