Presentation of our competition in Poland

 

In the town of Sanok (Poland) from 21-24 April 2016 was held XIX Festival Accordion Competition (Międzynarodowe Spotkania Akordeonowe) with financial support from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

This year the contest involved a record number of contestants since its foundation in 1994 – 140 contestants soloists and ensembles, as well as more than 300 participants of the festival. In addition to competitive performances in the program participated wonderful performers who delighted the guests and participants of the festival with their live performances every evening after the end of the competition program.

At the invitation of the director of the festival and music school PSM I i II st. im Wandy Kossakowej Mr. Andrew Smolik, President of Association of educators of Serbia musical institutions, the founder and director of the International Music Competition – Belgrade, Serbia, Milomir Doychinovich presented his presentation on the aims and objectives of the organization of International Music Competition.

Also with a great interest audience participated in the master classes, lectures, seminars with leading educators, musicians, artists in the bayan/accordion. Among them were such eminent musicians as prof. Bogdan Dowlasz, prof. Klaudiusz Baran, prof. Elwira Sliwkiewicz-Cisak, prof. Pawel Paluch, prof. Władimir Runczak, prof. Nikolaj Sewriukow, prof. Richardas Sviackevicius …

We are very pleased for the past few years working with Mr. Andrew Smolik, who is a member of the jury in the category Accordion/Bayan on our competition. And that together we propagandize for young musicians progress with accordion and bayan development and impart to them a love of music and art.

The famous company «Scandalli» at the festival presented its instruments. Director of the company – Mirko Patarini (Italy, Castelfidardo) for several years is a member of the jury of our contest.

Sanok is a town in south-eastern Poland with 39,110 inhabitants, as of 2 June 2009. The town has several public schools and a branch of the Polish High School of Technology. The town also has a football club called Stal Sanok and some other sport clubs (including volleyball, swimming, handball, ice hockey). The Sanok Castle near the centre of the old town houses a museum displaying over 300 fine icons.
